I'll be spending my summer in New York this year! Got the official offer letter today and will be accepting by the end of the week. I know there are TONS of book bloggers in the New York area, so if you're there and available, let me know and we can meet up :-) I'll be there from after Memorial Day to mid-August. So excited for a summer of fun in the Big Apple!

Welcome to the Big Apple!
ReplyDeleteI know Utah did a book blogger meetup this past weekend - I think NYC needs to do one (outside of Book Blogger Con), too!
Congratulations, Aarti! Hope you have a good time in the summer.
ReplyDeleteWohooo, congrats!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, that's awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteFun! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Aarti! I read back a little but didn't see what you're coming for... school? I'm here and never sorry about meeting another book lover for coffee. Get in touch if you have time - melissatromo (at) yahoo (dot) com.
ReplyDeleteWow, this sounds like great fun! What a wonderful opportunity to spend so much time in Chicago AND New York!
ReplyDeleteyay! I'm so excited for you :D Also, you can hang out with Jenny and everyone else! I wish I could visit you all :P
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! Melissa, I'll be interning in the area over the summer. I'm in business school now, so over the summer I'll be working with a company before coming back to school. I'll be in touch, for sure!
ReplyDeleteNymeth, Jenny was the first blogger that came to my mind :-)
Yay! You got your internship! And in New York - sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Aarti. I know you were a bit stressed about it, so glad to hear it turned out!
ReplyDeleteAarti, so relieved to hear that the deal is done, and that you will be headed to the Big Apple! I know you are going to have a great time there and that you are going to meet some fabulous bloggers and visit a few neat book shops too! Keep us posted on what's up and take care over there!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, what a blast you'll have!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful summer.
ReplyDeleteYour summer in NYC sounds awesome! I hope you share your experiences with us here on the blog. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteYay to summer in the city! So many fun, free things to do here in the summer!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! I'm pretty sure I'll be in New York this year too, if all goes well, but I leave before you get there. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Aarti! The best time to go to the city is in the summer.. so you should enjoy it!! The one thing I regret about moving out of NY was the literary job opps.. so enjoy yourself and make yourself known!!
ReplyDeleteThere are some great bookshops there as well! Good luck!
Congratulations! I hope you have a great time in New York. I'm actually kind of jealous that you get to go there, since I've wanted to visit for a really long time. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations...sounds like it'll be a fun summer!
ReplyDeleteHave fun! Makes me wish I was still living on the east coast (well, it doesn't take much for me to wish that, I admit). Hope you'll have time to blog about your adventures this summer -- even if you only blog about it a couple times.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Congratulations, Aarti! We're so going to have to get together when you arrive!
ReplyDeleteYay, awesome news! I get up to NYC relatively often (I'm going to be there in a week and am meeting up with Nicole from Linus' Blanket and Lydia from Penguin). I'll be there for BEA in May, any chance you can sneak down a couple of days early and hang out with all of us? :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Let me know if you need any connections or recommendations
ReplyDeleteSwapna- Sadly, I can't go to BEA (I definitely looked into it) because I have a wedding to attend Memorial Day weekend :-( I was pretty bummed to realize that, but hopefully you'll be up again in the summer some time! Or I can come down to DC. I have this completely baseless notion that the entire east coast is easily accessible to the rest of the east coast, though, so I could be off in my assumption that it's an easy weekend trip.
ReplyDeleteNicole- Absolutely! Or we could hang out :-)
And Jenny- YES, absolutely :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Wish I still lived in NYC so we could meet up. Have fun!!!
